Horizon Japan International School Sendai
Horizon Japan International School Sendai Izumi is an international kindergarten where children naturally acquire English as part of their everyday lives, while their individual interests and passions are carefully nurtured.
Our curriculum is based on the UK’s EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework and enriched with inquiry-based learning. Rather than simply “learning English,” children play, think, and explore in English through hands-on experiences.
By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social skills in a well-balanced way, we lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning and future success in an increasingly global world.
Horizon Sendai Primary School
Our school is a private Japanese primary school offering a bilingual learning environment in English and Japanese.
Approximately 50–60% of instruction is delivered in English, with the remaining lessons taught in Japanese. Classes are led by a co-teaching team of an international teacher and a Japanese teacher, creating a natural bilingual environment not only in the classroom but throughout daily school life.
All school communications are provided in both English and Japanese, allowing non-Japanese-speaking parents to stay informed and feel confident about their child’s education.

We operate school bus services primarily within Sendai City for students commuting to and from school.

We offer an on-campus daycare program for families who need after-school care or care during long school holidays.

Families may choose between a delivered school lunch service or bringing a packed lunch from home.

Interpretation Support
All school communications are provided in both Japanese and English. If interpretation support is needed, our bilingual staff are available to assist with communication between parents and the school.

Extensive English Books & Learning Materials
To encourage everyday exposure to English, we provide access to online English reading platforms as well as a rich collection of books in both English and Japanese in our school library.
